Katy Perry’s life isn’t all Candy Land Trips and cupcake bras – the pop tart has to work hard to squeeze into her sugary-coated costumes, and she doesn’t get to indulge in too many sweet treats (no giant gummy bears for her).
Luckily, Katy decided to ditch her candy characters for Cleopatra and cat people during her Prismatic World Tour. Without all that fake candy decorating the stage, it might be easier for the singer to stick to her diet plan.
Katy’s trainer, Harley Pasternak, told Closer magazine that the singer’s meals can no longer include fatty foods or alcohol. “Breakfasts are things like an egg white omelette with wholegrain toast, lunch is a salad with grilled chicken, and dinner is a prawn and vegetable stir fry,” he said.

If you want to try to eat like Katy for a day by following this specific meal plan, here are a few quick tips: make the omelette healthier and more flavorful by adding spinach and sliced grape tomatoes; make sure that your salad includes the superfood kale; and add some of your favorite mushrooms to that stir fry (Katy is reportedly a fan of a mushroom diet called “The M Plan”).
Katy Perry doesn’t want to work out so much that she loses her famous curves, so Harley Pasternak is keeping her workouts short and sweet using HIIT (high-intensity interval training). Katy exercises five days a week, and her workouts include lunges and hip thrusts (bridges). “These tone, as well as boost her metabolism, and can be done anywhere,” Pasternak said.
If you want to try a HIIT workout, you might want to start with the popular 7 minute workout. However, you’ll want to make it a bit longer by tacking on hip thrusts/bridges at the end.
After a 5-minute warm-up, which doesn’t count as part of the workout, perform each of the exercises listed below for 30 seconds with 10 seconds of rest in between:
Jumping jacks
Wall sit
Push-ups
Crunches
Step-up onto chair
Squat
Triceps dip on chair
Plank Core
High knees/running in place
Lunge
Push-up and rotation
Side plank
Hip thrusts/bridges
To give the workout a twist that Katy Perry would love, tack on five minutes of jump roping at the end. And make sure that “Roar” is on your workout playlist to motivate you to push through the pain.
