The most popular workout song has been revealed, and it’s not the theme to Rocky.
It’s also not Katy Perry’s athletic anthem “Roar,” but it is a more modern tune. According to Billboard, gym rats are most likely listening to Eminem’s “‘Till I Collapse” while they try not to collapse on the treadmill.
Billboard discovered the top tune to sweat it out to by asking Spotify to poll its users and examine their playlists. It should come as no surprise that “Till I Collapse” was the most popular song with crossfit fans. After all, the title does capture the whole mentality behind the cultish workout craze.
If you want to add Eminem’s popular workout song to your own playlist, you need to time where you put it just right. The tune would be best placed near the end of the playlist so that you hear it right before you finish your workout. This is because the song includes words of encouragement that will help you push through the pain.

Here’s the song’s intro: “‘Cause sometimes you just feel tired / Feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up / But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength / And just pull that shit out of you and get that motivation to not give up / And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse.”
So the song isn’t actually encouraging you to collapse – it’s telling you to hold it together so that you don’t collapse. The tune eventually builds up to an impressive word explosion that might give you the burst of adrenaline that you need to push through that last set of reps.
Billboard’s top 10 list of the most popular workout songs was rounded out by “Levels” by Avicii, “Remember the Name” by Fort Minor, “Bangarang” by Skrillex, “Wake Me Up” by Avicii, “Lose Yourself” by Eminem, “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, “POWER” by Kanye West, “Numb/Encore” by Jay-Z and Linkin Park, and “Stronger” by Kanye West.
